MANUFACTURING ANALYTICAL SUPPORT – Under light supervision, provide technical support to manufacturing facilities by recommending and implementing at-line analytical instrumentation used to measure ingredient, in-process and product attributes. Serve as a resource for existing equipment calibration and troubleshooting. Ensure methodologies are fit for purpose and accuracy of resulting data.
ROUTINE TESTING - Under light supervision, monitor ingredient, in-process or finished product quality through analytical testing. Perform simple to moderately complex wet chemistry techniques (sample preparation, extraction and analysis). Perform moderately complex chemical analyses using analytical equipment. Operate, maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation. Prepare standards and controls. Record, compute and evaluate data as well as input data into LIMS. Prepare tables and graphs of data as appropriate. Maintain Workstation Manuals.
PROJECT LEADERSHIP - Under general supervision, assume responsibility for projects of significant importance, scope and complexity or assist on more complex projects. With assistance, solve problems through application of knowledge, experience and original thinking. Provide leadership and instruction to technicians when they are assigned to assist on a project. Review results with others and suggest the advisability of further tests and/or changes deemed necessary. Prepare all project reports as required. Make presentation of significant conclusions when pertinent.
LABORATORY METHOD DEVELOPMENT/EQUIPMENT SET-UP - Make recommendations for method development, or enhancement, designed to provide new analyses, produce more accurate data, or achieve cost savings. Also recommend and coordinate equipment purchases and upgrades.
