Primary Job Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and expertise in the protein structure determination and characterization of small molecule programs in Oncology and Immuno-oncology focus
Partner with protein scientists, biochemists, computational & medicinal chemists to identify and develop high-quality lead compounds for programs with a structure-guided approach
Contribute to the design and execution of biophysical screening and kinetics studies to support hit identification, validation, compound progression, and help guide mechanistic studies
Collaborate with discovery colleagues, collaborators, CROs and consultants to develop structural biology strategies and crystallography efforts to advance our portfolio of drug targets
You will need an effective communication style to establish and maintain strong productive relationships with external partners and collaborators
Primary Job Requirements:
Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, or related field with 10 years of industry (Biotech or Pharmaceutical) experience
Sound knowledge of crystallography, structural biology, protein science, and protein biophysics
Expertise in protein-ligand complexes with studies involving x-ray crystallography and cryo-EM
Deep understanding of the characterization of protein-ligand interactions by biophysical methods.
Past hands-on expertise would be valuable with technologies including NMR, Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC), TSA, SPR Biacore, or MicroScale Thermophoresis (MST)
Drug Discovery exposure to early-stage programs that have made it to or past IND stages would be of value.
Work in external collaboration with partners and consultants would be valuable in this role as well
Ability to present data internally and externally with key opinion leaders and decision-makers is vital
Comfortable working in an evolving biotech environment and overseeing a variety of priorities is essential for success in this growing organization
