Role Summary:Join as a Lead Bioprocess Scientist for Fast Trak, a global group that oversees the biopharma industry. In this highly dynamic group, support customers from industry/academia with process development services for various biomolecules, as well as training courses. Essential Responsibilities:

Working directly with customers and various GEHC teams in a strong collaborative environment

Acting as scientific project leader to develop downstream processes for various biomolecules (Monoclonal Antibodies, vaccines, recombinant proteins, plasma fractionation etc.) and/or conducting independent scientific application work in such projects

Performing and developing analytical assays as part of process development projects, i.e. HPLC, Labchip, electrophoresis, Gyrolab, etc.

Designing, developing and delivering training courses for customers, theoretical as well as practical, in the field of biomanufacturing

In depth knowledge and experience with UNICORN, AKTA, Large scale column packing, HTPD and

scale up.

Identifying improvement opportunities in GE customer's bio-manufacturing processes

Developing and maintaining relationships with the regional commercial and marketing teams, as

well as the global Fast Trak and R&D organizations

Occasional international travel may occur


Masters degree in Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical engineering or related Life Sciences field with 7 years’ experience in downstream process development, HTPD, scale-up, tech transfer, and/or manufacturing

--- OR --- PhD in Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical engineering or related Life Sciences field with 4 years’ experience in downstream process development, HTPD, scale-up, tech transfer, and/or manufacturing

In depth knowledge and experience with UNICORN, AKTA and Large-scale column packing

Project management or project leadership experience and ability to drive projects independently as well as with a team

Experience with biological assays e.g. HPLC, IEF, electrophoresis, Gyrolab

Able to simultaneously manage projects and other responsibilities and adjust quickly to changing priorities

Demonstrated strong presentation, teaching and communication skills

Structured and organized team player with good interpersonal skills

Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, matrixed, and customer focused environment

Demonstrated advanced English skills both written and spoken

Desired Characteristics:

Strong industrial experience in Downstream processing of biomolecules (filtration, downstream, technology transfer, validation, process development, biomanufacturing, continuous processing)

Proven skills in engaging, motivating and involving people

Working knowledge of FDA/EMEA regulations for biologics (Phase I-III and manufacturing)

Prior teaching and/or presenting scientific material experience would be highly desirable
