Vertellus is currently seeking a Marketing Manager, Anhydrides to be located at our office in Parsipanny, NJ. This role will be responsible for all facets of market development and business growth, with a specific focus on delivering value and growth in Vertellus’ customer centric organization. This includes delivering the Long Term Plan (LTP) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP). Focus will include targeted markets and product lines as well as developing new business based on knowledge within Vertellus’ Anhydrides Chemicals business which is currently focused on Life Science applications in crop protection, pharmaceutical, personal care and industrial markets. The scope of the role includes both strategic marketing, developing growth strategies for existing and new offerings, as well as management of specific product lines including product positioning, pricing and channel strategies and partners to drive growth and profitability. The Marketing Manager will develop and deliver new application and product opportunities that leverage Vertellus’ technology and convert into commercial results.
Develop and implement individual market strategies based on in-depth market, customer and competitive analysis - including product positioning, pricing and channels/routes to market with the objective of maximizing the growth potential and profitability of the product line. Types of analyses would include supply/demand analysis, import/export stats, market segmentation, development of value in use-based value propositions, competitive position.
Identifying, prioritizing and developing new application and business opportunities through market research, market development work, evaluation of new applications and championing of new product development programs using stage gate process, effective marketing to potential customers, and acting as liaison with technical teams from development to product launch.
Coordinating and lead market development and new product programs.
Recommend value-based pricing and product positioning and support ongoing pricing efforts to manage and maximize margins. Engage sales and customer service teams to implement pricing.
Work with global sales and technical teams to develop deeper understanding of customer needs, competitive alternatives and generate plans to win in the marketplace.
Maintain and improve Vertellus competitive position.
Asist in management of the Anhydrides opportunity pipeline
Participate in Anhydrides routine business meetings to communicate, track and report on progress of leading business priorities.
Maintain and improve profits of existing products and product lines.
Support, develop and implement market communications and promotional activities. Participate and attend leading industry conferences promoting Vertellus and key product lines.
Travel with sales to leading customers and industry players to obtain first hand understanding of customer and market situations. Complete Voice of the Customer (VOC) activities to adapt product offering as required. Use VOC process as means to generate new product and opportunity ideas.
? Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Sciences or related area and five / ten years working experience in marketing or sales capacities in the chemical industry with a preference of experience in the Specialty Chemical segment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
? Experience in the Specialty Chemicals industries is strongly preferred.
Up to 50% travel (worldwide) is required with this position.
