The position requires expertise in transport phenomena, thermodynamics, chemical reactions and reaction kinetics while having the ability to development predictive models and apply them to semiconductor industry applications.u003cbr/u003eResponsibilities:u003cbr/u003e• Build chemical models to better understand and optimize SPS applications consisting of single wafer and batch chemical fluid transport and reactionsu003cbr/u003e• Build chemical models into simulation software to optimize tool design and/or process conditionsu003cbr/u003e• Prepare predictive models to understand process performance for next generation device length scalesu003cbr/u003e• Collaborate with other scientists and engineers within development teamu003cbr/u003e• Communicate project goals and status to both internal and external customersu003cbr/u003e• Publication in refereed scholarly journals and conferences as well as intellectual property generation is considered a mustu003cbr/u003e• Some travel is requiredu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eEducation:u003cbr/u003e• PhD degree in chemical engineering or related field;u003cbr/u003e• 3 to 5 years experience in a production or research environment;u003cbr/u003e• Strong background in chemical engineering;u003cbr/u003e• Deep understanding of fundamentals of chemical engineering theory: transport phenomena, thermodynamics, chemical reactions and reaction kinetics;u003cbr/u003e• Understanding of micro- and nanoscale surface phenomena: van der Walls forces, electrostatic effects, surface tension, etc.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eExperience and Skills:u003cbr/u003e• Strong cause-effect analytical and troubleshooting abilities is required;u003cbr/u003e• Multiscale modeling: experience using nanoscale phenomena to determine macroscale properties, and predicting effects on the nanoscale when changing macroscale conditions is required;u003cbr/u003e• Strong project management experience is desirable;u003cbr/u003e• Strong technical writing ability is required;u003cbr/u003e• Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills are required;u003cbr/u003e• Ability to execute tasks with minimal oversight is required;u003cbr/u003e• Finite element and/or CFD simulation experience is desirable;u003cbr/u003e• COMSOL, Star-CCM , ANSYS, OpenFOAM experience is desirable;u003cbr/u003e• Experience in coding with MATLAB, Python, Julia, R, etc. to solve technical problems is desirable.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eDiversity creates an innovative culture.
