The Product Safety Engineer is responsible for the development and application of safety principles and practices to improve product safety across all product lines. This position works closely with Product Engineers, Marketing, Legal, Project Management, and Product Development Teams.   PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS Support product safety reviews for New Product Development and Sustaining Engineering. Develop certification programs to achieve third-party safety agency certifications.Provide technical expertise in the areas of safety and compliance during to product development teams.Assist in the application of all applicable government, industry, and company safety requirements to provide global product safety.Develop, document and maintain safety specifications on a product-by-product basis.Anticipate, recognize, and evaluate safety hazards by performing risk assessment studies in partnership with product development teams.Identify safety improvement opportunities and work with Senior Leadership and Product Development Teams to implement.Perform regulatory validation by developing safety critical components lists, compliance checklists, and relevant test data.Support reviews of Product literature and labeling for safety and compliance.Travel required approximately 15% of the time to support other 3D Systems engineering sites.Support Global Market Access (GMA) approach to achieve global safety compliance across multiple product lines and programs.Provide general product support for the Product Development Teams.','!*!QUALIFICATIONS   Education and Training Required Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or similar technical field. Experience 5 years direct experience in product safety, compliance, quailty and/or design in a product development environment. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong data analysis and data-based decision making  Structured problem-solving skills.An understanding Hazards and Risks Assessment principles preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to write clear and precise technical reports and presentations.Ability to conduct product construction and validation reviews, and prepare technical documentation and test reports.Ability to communicate and work cross-functionally across all levels of the organization.Proficient in various safety standards with an emphasis on IEC, EN, UL, NFPA, and CSA Conformity Assessment Standards.Familiar with European Directives and Standards','3D Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
