Profile

Utilize sequence analysis software such as ‘Geneious’ and basic bioinformatics tools for primer design, sequence blasting and alignment.
Maintain quality of protocols and applications, write SOPs.
Track progress and present results to manager and collaborators.
Assist with occasional weekend tasks when required.
Qualifications: A Master degree with 2+ years’ experience or a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, metabolic engineering, molecular biology, microbiology, or other related fields.
Proficiency at the bench in molecular biology techniques such as primer design, PCR, DNA and RNA extraction, DNA mutagenesis, DNA cloning, plasmid mini-prep, DNA and protein sequence analysis, cell transformation, cell culture, and other more advanced molecular biology techniques in support of research projects.
Familiarity with recombinant protein expression, purification, and enzymatic assays.
Robust understanding of experimental methodology and workflows and familiarity with laboratory equipment and practices such as spectrophotometers, centrifuges, electrophoresis, and blotting.
Must be highly motivated and able to work independently while also possessing exceptional communication and teamwork skills.

Job Description Overview:
We are looking for bioengineers excited about our mission and the idea of developing automated solutions for genetic engineering of industrial microbes. The candidate is expected to have a strong background in molecular biology. Experience in metabolic engineering, biochemistry, lab automation and other related disciplines is a plus. You will bring your bench chops and an eagerness to learn how to apply automation workflows to organism engineering challenges. From the start you will be applying robotics to enhanced workflows, with the goal of becoming independent operators and programmers of this equipment. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
Complete large molecular biology projects to support platform development.
