The ideal candidate has mastered the fundamentals of chemistry and physics and has direct experience in a research laboratory (e.g., has completed a cooperative training program, a summer internship, or undergraduate research). The candidate must comfortably take the initiative, be curious, and show resilience in solving complex problems.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop solid dosage forms for clinical and commercial use, generate data for project progression and regulatory filings, conduct optimization and scale up studies.
Help design, plan, execute, and interpret laboratory experiments, with minimal supervision, to meet established project timelines.
Maintain accurate and complete laboratory notebook capturing protocols, results and observations. Interpret data to form sound conclusions.
Perform basic statistical description of experimental data
Timely document integrated experimental outcomes in presentations and research reports.
Assist in technical transfer to CMO partners for clinical trial manufacture
Comply with all relevant Safety and GMP procedures
The successful candidate will possess:
A degree in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry (or closely related major) with coursework in at least the following branches: physical, analytical, organic, and biochemistry
Experience as a CoOp, Intern, or Undergraduate Researcher conducting experiments in the laboratory (beyond course-associated work)
Strong math skills particularly as applied to material/energy balances, and intermediate applied statistical analysis
Hands on experience with formulation techniques, processing equipment, and unit operations at both the laboratory and clinical manufacturing scales.
Strong technical writing skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Successful and efficient in multitasking and working on a few projects concurrently
Bachelor's degree 0-1 year or Masters degree 1 year in
an pharmaceutical or engineering field, material science or chemical engineering preferred, or a degree in a related physical science field with similar core course requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years' experience (or master's degree with 0-2 years experience) in
conducting laboratory experiments in chemistry-related field and direct experience with formulation techniques or pharmaceutical unit operations.
GLP, GMP, GxP experience is a plus
