DECATUR TECHNOLOGY LAB TECHNICIANnJob DescriptionnPOSITION OVERVIEWnnThis position in the technology lab will be primarily responsible for the operation and maintenance of the process performance equipment within the technology lab.This equipment is used in support of the industrial process for producing adiponitrile through the electrohydrodimerization of acrylonitrile (organic electrochemistry).Secondary job functions include analytical support for technology programs and trials, and non-routine analytical in support of plant trials.nnREPORTS TOnnProcess Technology Lab SupervisornnKEY RESPONSIBILITIES Primarily operate and maintain process performance equipment in the technology lab (microcells/pilot plant)Provide analytical support for bench scale experiments, experimental lab trials, and plant trials.Assist technology chemists in executing bench scale experiments in the lab to support key programs.Assist with experimental trial preparation. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Applied bench scale chemistry.Analytical techniques such as GC, IC, ICP and wet chemistry.Understanding of chemical processes and controls.Good communication skills (verbal and written). DESIRED CERTIFICATION Bachelors degree in chemistry preferred, but not required. REQUIRED SKILLS Excellent organizational skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Creative problem solver.Mechanical and/or electrical aptitudeAbility to work 8-12 hour shifts, and potentially evenings and weekends.
