Description The SLAM ER Restart Program is seeking an experienced system architect to assist with the creation of a baseline architecture. The program is updating an existing missile system for new production. Some systems and elements are being redesigned and others retained. The successful candidate will have experience creating new operational and functional architecture models and be comfortable with Rhapsody and\/or Magic Draw\/Cameo, the Boeing standard modeling tools. Communication skills are required to work across disciplines to ensure accuracy in the final product. This project will be completed in a fast-paced, continuously changing environment; therefore, flexibility is necessary. A mixed engineering product definition, such as paper drawings together with model based drawings, complicates the effort.Typical tasks will include: \u00b7Interfacing with the systems engineering team, coordinating with design and analysis engineers, participating in milestone reviews, and ensuring alignment with the Statement of Work and requirements definition. \u00b7Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. \u00b7Evaluates customer\/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. \u00b7Performs analyses to optimize total system of systems and\/or system architecture. Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. \u00b7Supports the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. This position will partner with a senior systems architect to complete the task. Qualifications This position requires an active\u00a0Secret\u00a0U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) Typical Education\/Experience: Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
