Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated I&C Engineer to join our Water Group in our Chelmsford, Ma office. This position will involve a variety of new and upgrades to existing water treatment facilities, water booster pump stations, and wastewater pumping and treatment facilities.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Support the Mechanical Process Engineer with the development of process flow diagrams (PFD).
Use the PFDs to develop detailed process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
Design control system architecture using a variety of technologies including ethernet, fiber optic networks, radio, and VPN.
Develop datasheets for process instrumentation and PLC/network control systems hardware.
Prepare detailed control narrative for full plant operation.
Develop detailed drawings to convey the design.
Support the development of technical specifications.
Verify compliance with applicable US codes and engineering standards/practices.
Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.
Ability to work flexible hours to attend project meetings/calls with the Chelmsford Design Center.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture
Experienced, self-directed professional.
Must be a highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work.
Ability to meet quality, schedule and budget expectations.
Ability to multi-task and be flexible, along with ability to adapt to project deadlines
Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.
Willingness/ability to visit the Chelmsford Design Center.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications;
Bachelor's Degree Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred or equivalent work experience.
Four years of work experience as an I&C Engineer.
Experience with different PLC/network control system platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the water/wastewater industry.
Experience with US codes and standards.
Experience with AutoCAD, BIM360, etc.
Experience with Smart P&ID.
