['Associate Director, TSO','185203','Estée Lauder Companies Corporate Departments','Research & Development','Americas-US-NY-Melville','','','','','Full-time','1st (Day) Shift','No','Standard','','','!*!The Global Technical Services organization is responsible for the development, scale up and qualification of all manufacturing procedures across our Supply Chain network.This Associate Director position is accountable for leading the technical program to support key Supply Chain value creation and business continuity opportunities on our current product portfolio. For example, developing technical solutions to maximize utilization of manufacturing assets for production, cost savings through greater process efficiencies, transfer of production to other sites within our plant network and qualification of revised products driven by changes in raw material sourcing and regulatory requirements. The job scope covers all categories (makeup, skin care, bath & body, fragrance) across all internal manufacturing sites. In addition, the role will provide technical support for some out-sourced products in collaboration with third party manufacturers. This role will report into the Executive Director of TSO Global Value Creation.Principal Accountabilities• Personal leadership of large, cross-discipline technical teams, including creation of project milestones, ensuring alignment with business needs / priorities and securing stakeholder buy-in.• Drives timely delivery of products & processes through application of ‘quality by design’ principles, using a technical risk assessment approach to define pragmatic, yet robust qualification plan. In doing so, proactively identifies & manages technical program challenges, including risk mitigation plans to ensure success. • Directly manages a group of TSO engineers, allocating project priorities, providing technical guidance and helping with coaching and career development.• Proactively identifies and implements work process improvements, addressing emerging gaps / opportunities within the TSO organization. Partners with Supply Chain function to improve enterprise-wide work processes that enable more agility in delivery of new products and optimization of existing products.• Liaises with Senior Management in TSO and rest of R&D to give guidance on relevant technology trends and innovations. • Actively drives improvement in technical management capabilities within the organization, including development/deployment of technical training programs. ','!*!• Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing process design within cosmetic / beauty industry.• Proven track record of delivering complex technical projects within a supply chain environment.• Ability to recognize evolving business needs, anticipate issues & develop plans to address.• Effective collaborator with technical and commercial functions including Formulation, Regulatory, Plant Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Project Management Office, Marketing.• Experience of managing people, including assessment of performance, coaching and development of personnel technical skills. • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.• 7 years of relevant work experience.
