Process Safety Engineers at FHR work on a day-to-day basis with site operations to help implement programs that support our vision of injury-free operations and mitigation of process safety risk.This role will be part of a Process Entry Level Professional (ELP) Rotational Program. The program is a 2-year program that provides qualified entry-level candidates with rotational work-experiences at two refinery/petrochemical operations as well as trips to other Flint Hills Resources sites. The goal of the program is to develop an understanding of the many aspects of process safety in a variety of industrial environments while allowing the candidate to demonstrate their ability to grow within FHR as a Process Safety Engineer. Mentorship is a hallmark of the ELP program.Successful candidates must be willing to move several times within the 2-year program as part of the work rotation.nn

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

nnn

Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), with involvement in assessment of PHA effectiveness and actions/projects needed

n

Assistance with design and roll-out of process safety education efforts for facility personnel

n

Frequent input and review of process safety risk reduction practices and projects

n

Interaction with facility Management of Change work processes, including field walk-downs and drawing reviews

n

Participate in projects requiring chemical engineering expertise with a process safety focus

n

What You Will Need:

nnBasic Qualifications:n

Will have completed a Bachelor?s or Master?s Degree in Chemical Engineering on or before June 2018

n

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (please upload a copy of your current/most recent transcript)

n

Some sites have certain physical requirements including but not limited to:n

Performing physically demanding tasks repetitively for extended periods of time (i.e., lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/o pulling)

n

Wearing necessary Personal Protection Equipment (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, chemical suit, respirator, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes)

n

n

Must be willing to relocate several times within the 2-year program as part of the work rotation

n

nThis role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identification Credentialing rule or ?TWIC? and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for unescorted access to the facility within a specific time period.nn
