Responsible for supervising a team(s) of field employees in providing services to clients that result in the safe disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.¬† Coordinates subcontractors and field personnel within the job specifications and regulatory guidelines. Provides guidance and training to all field service employees.¬† Prepares project estimates, Manages team(s) including hiring, evaluating, and disciplinary actions.
Duties & Responsibilities:¬†¬†¬†
Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, outlined in the Veolia safety program.
Manages a team of field employees to execute lab pack projects/jobs and ensure the proper packaging of material/waste; Print required labels and labels drums and assure driver of an expedient pick-up. Load/pack materials/wastes properly and segregate for compatibility the waste material on transport vehicle;
Ensures overall quality control of waste materials to be shipped;
Understand customer specific disposal restrictions/special packaging requirements;
Scoping jobs and developing quotations in conjunction with other internal department for lab packing and Transportation and Disposal opportunities; plan/execute projects when won;
Performs verifications and reviews of all timesheets to ensure proper billing is achieved.
Ensure current contracts and purchase orders are in place prior to job execution;
Trains and mentors Lab Pack Chemist and will complete the performance reviews for individuals who they have direct or indirect supervision.
Responsible for routine site audits to access crew leadership and safe work practices.
Recognize and act on opportunities to increase value added services that benefit customers.¬†¬†Act as a liaison between sales and operations, bridging the gap between how the job was sold and how the job should be executed;
Maintain a professional image to clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing and/or potential problems.
Comply with and enforce all compliance, health and safety, and procedures in accordance with departmental procedures.
Ensure completion and accuracy of all DOT/EPA and Veolia regulations required in submitting paperwork.
Ensure completion of all mandatory training courses as required by OSHA as well as updated refresher courses instituted by the company.
Oversees the operation and maintenance of all equipment to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Veolia business.
What does it take to work for Veolia?
3 years of hazardous waste handling experience is a plus;
1 years of chemical or laboratory experience is a plus;
1-2 Years of Supervisory experience preferred
Available for overnight travel;
High School Diploma or GED Required; Bachelors of Science in Chemistry preferred but not necessary
Driver's license required
Class B CDL or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire (we will provide paid training)
40-hour Hazwoper Training (we will provide training)
