**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s Hydrocarbons production facility at Louisiana Operations (LAO) has an opening for a Process Automation Engineer located in Plaquemine, LA. LAO Hydrocarbons consists of a world-scale flexible-feed ethylene plant (LA3), an ethane/propane (EP) feed ethylene plant (LA2), a world-scale aromatics plant, and associated feedstock and product storage areas. The facility has recently started several large projects - LA3 Propane Dehydrogenation (FCDh-1) Expansion, LA3 Burner Management Upgrade, and LA2 Lifetime Extension. Given the scope and breadth of these and other projects (>$250MM), there is plenty of opportunity for achievement and for growth. The candidate for this role will support project related Process Safety aspects of projects in LAO and/or become a man rep for one of the major projects within the facility. The successful candidate for this job will be a member of the LAO Hydrocarbons Improvement Team. This team improves the plants' performance by developing and implementing projects to close a wide variety of gaps. These projects include safety system upgrades, yield and conversion energy improvements, operating discipline enhancements, capacity upgrades, control system upgrades, and various cost reduction efforts. The improvement teams also assists operations and plant staff in determining how best to run the plant efficiently and safely. Typical Job Duties: Providing everyday plant technical support in process automation (ABB, Foxboro platforms) and simulation. Serve as a process automation focal point to support project work, process safety needs and/or act as Man rep for one of the large projects within the facility. Implement opportunities to improve plant performance and monitoring. Participate in LHC Process Automation network. Participate in LOPA and LOPA revalidations. Participate in LPP gap assessments and participate in plant audits. Strong technical skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently are important aspects of this job. Candidate will be required to handle multiple activities simultaneously. Qualifications Required Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required. Work during off-hours and weekends are sometimes required during plant turnarounds or upsets. Participate in plant on-call duties once fully trained. Proficiency in English is required. A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process. Preferred Qualifications: 3 years previous Process Automation experience in a production facility or working on projects is preferred. Strong technical and interpersonal skills along with a high level of initiative are required to be successful in this role. Must be able to work with multiple functions and diverse workgroups, especially important to be able to work with shift and technical operations teams. Must be able to work independently or on a large team.
