Description: This position is responsible for supervising the department to fulfill the goals and policies that falls in line with the company’s strategic intent. Their focus is Food Defense, Food Safety and Quality. They must also work with the other departments Supervisors to ensure that the departments are aligned with the managing partner’s vision. They will assist the QA Director in working with the Quality team in understanding and meeting the initiatives related to the development, implementation and maintenance and any ongoing improvement of the SQF Scheme. They are responsible for ensuring the Quality Department is meeting or exceeding federal, state or city regulatory requirements and customer expectations in regards to quality and food safety. Duties: Will hold the following Positions:Food Defense Coordinator HACCP Coordinator Kosher Coordinator SQF Practitioner - Secondary Supports and backs up the Quality Director as needed. Leads the Quality team to meet or exceed regulatory or customer expectations in regards to food safety or quality. Responsible for all activities listed in the procedures and programs that refer to the responsible party as the Quality Assurance Associate Supervisor or Quality Assurance Supervisor. Manage and maintain the Kosher documentation Write procedures to ensure compliance and uniformity in performing for Quality responsibilities Manage QA Personnel to ensure compliance to all Quality Programs, including HACCP, Food Defense, and Food Safety and all correlating procedures and policies Maintain Quality Training Program Schedule QAs and QCs to meet weekly production schedule Update and perform the GMP Training as required in both English and Spanish Translate documents for different departments as required Enter and update new ingredients and products into Genesis Enter new products and applicable specification limits into Infinity Data Base Manager Generate and work with the label company to obtain an approved label Maintain Label Revision Binders for Receiving and Production Coordinate Internal audits Assist with a New Product launch – Update Genesis – new ingredients/ new product Update X-Ray (if a cake is available) Update infinity as needed with new products, new specifications, etc Work with Purchasing on COA's issues Maintain Ingredients Binder Perform and document job performance reviews Perform Positive Release of product Performs essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations. Performs other duties as assigned by the Management Team. Qualifications: SQF Certification HACCP Certification Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Food Safety or a related field with a background in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry and/or Mathematics, required. 3 years of plant experience with 1 years of supervisory experience 1 years of food plant experience - bakery preferred 2 years of quality management related experience. Experience with regulatory, third party, and customer audits. Must demonstrate proven critical thinking, people and team development skills, strategic aptitude, and independent leadership. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with facilities, regulatory agencies, and customers. Ability to communicate well, both orally and written. Ability to understand and analyze issues involving food manufacturing, project management, mathematics (including statistics), technical and legal documents. Ability to understand issues in relation to product manufacturing operations and their impact. Ability to provide supervision, guidance, effective training and counsel to others Ability to effectively organize, coordinate and execute. Ability to understand food and environmental regulations and their impact on the organization, and our customers
