Job Description

Gore's Performance Solutions Division is committed to delivering breakthrough performance solutions for customers' complex product and process challenges in several key markets and industries including: aerospace, automotive, mobile electronics, music, semiconductor, oil and gas, industrial and pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. As a leading supplier of products engineered to be used in demanding environments, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Process Engineer professional to join our team in Elkton, MD. 

If you are searching for a company where you can make a difference, we’re looking for you. In this role, you will be a part of the Filtration Business Group and will provide product manufacturing process support for our Industrial Dry Filtration Business Unit.

The ideal candidate will:

Responsibilities include:

Providing daily process support for the manufacturing of existing products through regular interaction with the production floor and deep knowledge of the production equipment

Monitoring product stability and capability and leading continuous improvement through the supply chain (including upstream and downstream partners)

Providing process development support to research and development teams for the development of new products

Ensuring a match between product fitness-for-use requirements and manufacturing process procedures, set points, test measurements, and acceptance criteria

Creating, executing, and analyzing experiments using statistical methods

Establishing and executing robust product, test method, and process validations

Developing and implementing raw material, component, and finished-part specifications

Driving root-cause problem-solving and resolution of equipment and product quality upsets

Working with design engineers to develop, install, and qualify new equipment

Documenting work via reports, technology notebooks, the quality system, and design file entries','!*!Required Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering

Minimum of 3 years of process engineering experience

Experience applying statistical tools such as SPC and designed experiments in manufacturing processes.

Experience performing commercialization and/or validation activities

Demonstrated hands-on ability to apply then troubleshoot equipment, processes, and materials

Evidence of a continuous-improvement mindset for optimizing production processes

Demonstrated ability to:

Prioritize a demanding project load and effectively multi-task

Lead projects and drive progress to plan

Network and contribute effectively in cross-functional teams

Flexibility to:

Support off shift production as necessary

Support global teammates, customers, and suppliers

Excellent communication skills

Ability to team as well as work independently

Willingness to travel periodically (estimated 10- 25% of the time)

Desired Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or materials science

Experience supporting processes at contract manufacturer

Experience applying Lean Concepts and Operational Excellence tools
