We are working with an international Chemical Company,
a major producer of a wide range of chemicals, with leading market positions and brands in countries around the world to fill a key role in this chemical processing plant. This plant has had a major management shift with a new plant manager that has just come on board recently and is looking to upgrade the talent level; and the corporation is spending money to update equipment, systems, and personnel to world class levels. WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THIS ROLE
If selected, you will be responsible for hands-on production process engineering work in this chemical processing plant operation. The company is looking a a wide variety of CAPEX projects and need someone that can work with the project team to fine tune these processes and also to maintain and optimize current operations utilizing six sigma/LEAN and related continuous process improvement methodologies
. As a member of the production engineering team you will have responsibilities for working in an assigned chemical production area (
reporting to the production manager
) to implement process improvement, quality improvements and cost reduction opportunities. Must have the ability to identify issues and determine whether they are raw material issues, personnel issues, equipment issues, etc and determine and implement workable, cost effective solutions
WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering
(or related) and 4 to 6 years is ideal
but will also consider 10+ years of experience (money will be the limiter) EXPERIENCE MUST BE in a chemical process manufacturing or a related processing industry environment.
- Solid working knowledge of best practices for process troubleshooting and process optimization.
- Working knowledge of chemical process equipment: heat transfer, solids handling, and related process auxiliary equipment and systems including:
Chemical and physical unit operations
Reaction chemistry and technology
Mass and energy transfer
Fluid dynamics, thermodynamics
Process control systems
- Very strong internal customer focus capabilities to closely interact with multiple organizational levels on site. Strong interpersonal, communication, administrative, personal motivation, and personal adaptability skills. Must relate well with hourly associates and get cooperation and input from them to identify and find solutions to issues that affect day-to-day operations and productivity.
- Physical demands: Ability to wear respirator, steel toed shoes and hard hat and work outside. Activities include standing, stooping, and climbing tanks
