What is your mission?

As a Research scientist, you will support ongoing programs and internal research and development efforts, enabling project advancement and emerging technologies.

What will you be working on?

- Perform scientific experiments, investigations, observations and related research studies

- Develop theories for understanding, characterizing, and organizing natural phenomena into a systematic and significant pattern

- Participate in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors’ degree in Physics, Chemistry, Optics, Remote Sensing, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. Entry level.

This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen. Ability to obtain a clearance

The successful candidate will have demonstrated proficiency or mastery of at least several of the desired skills, as well as the interest, motivation and ability to learn and grow in the other desired skill areas:

• Mathematics

• Mechanical Engineering

• Electrical Engineering

• Radiometry

• EO/IR sensors

• Image and signal processing

• Data analysis

• Statistical analyses

• Machine learning

• Artificial intelligence

• Physics modeling and simulation

• Basic scripting & software development

• Ability to conduct research and development in both laboratory and field environments. Proficiency in scientific analysis software, e.g. MATLAB, Python, etc. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
