TECHNICAL PROJECT and TURNAROUND ENGINEER for PROCESS GROUPThe Turnaround (TA) Process Engineer will be the focal point for all Turnaround related activities for the technical/process group at the Bayport PO/TBA plant. Specifically, this position will include the following responsibilites:\tFocal point for gathering and developing ideas that will become engineered scope in site turnarounds. Maintain database and work with other engineers to prioritize and develop project justifications.\tProject coordinator to organize the development of process design basis (PDB), design requests (MDR), authorization for feasibility (AFF) requests, coordinating efforts of all of the technical resources working on TA-related projects.\tProcess engineering to develop a substantial portion of AFF’s, PDB’s, and MDR’s for the process-engineering driven improvements.\tReview and develop specifications for equipment such as control valves and relief valves.\tReview and approve design packages for TA-related projects.\tCoordinate management of change (MOC) activities for all TA projects and develop MOC’s for assigned projects.\tDevelop process engineering deliverables for TA planning and preparation such as equipment inspection plans, training materials.\tParticipate in risk assessments and develop risk mitigation action plans for TA-related activities.\tDevelop and track action items to address incidents and lessons learned during TA’s.\tWrite reports on TA planning and execution activities, maintain metrics regarding process-engineering TA activities.\tDevelop overall TA Execution Plan for areas of responsibilities, an excellence model that can be used for all future TA’s.Roles and Responsibilities:\tProgress Turnaround scope to improve and sustain value in the areas of health, safety, environment, production rates, reliability, cost and quality.\tMaintain strong safety and environmental compliance focus.\tSolicit and progress recommendations to improve unit performance.\tProvide process design support for capital projects.\tContribute in a team environment and establish work relationships with onsite and offsite functional groups to achieve results.\tBalance day-to-day operational priorities with long term strategic objectives to ensure alignment with company goals.\tCoach less experienced engineers, as well as provide technical training to others.Qualifications\tBS degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering\tMinimum of five years of experience in a refining, petrochemical, or chemical environment\tDemonstrated IT capability in Microsoft Office Suite\tKnowledgeable in chemical and process engineering fundamentals\tAbility to apply engineering concepts to solve performance problems\tKnowledgeable in the HSE/PSM regulations and relevant company Operational Excellence guidelines/procedures\tKnowledgeable in the development of Process Design Packages and related economics\tLeadership skills to drive technical solutions and mentor engineersPreferred Qualification\tIdeal candidate will possess 7 years-experience in a refining, petrochemical, or chemical process environment.\tExcellent written and verbal communication skills\tDemonstrated problem solving and decision making skills and results orientation\tStrong Organizational skills\tGood interpersonal skills and the ability collaborate in a team based environment.LyondellBasell (NYSE: LYB) is one of the world’s largest plastics, chemical and refining companies and a member of the S&P 500.
