Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies have an opening for an experienced Chemical Process Engineer in Morris Plains, NJ or Baton Rouge, La, supporting the Fluorine Products business unit. The Chemical Process Engineer will work with experienced engineers and will interact with Research & Development, Operations, and contractor engineering firms to design new production facilities or expansions of existing facilities to grow our business as well as developing improvements to our existing facilities. The process engineer will follow Honeywell\u2019s Process Standards and Procedures during the development, design, and construction phases. The process engineer will also provide process technology support to operating plants. The position will require travel to Honeywell engineering offices, research facilities, and production facilities as well as contract engineering firms. In this role you will process description and key technology and risk summary. Proper scaling up of laboratory data to commercial design. Process Simulations Heat and Material Balance and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs). Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs). Development of Process Equipment Specifications Participation in Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs)\/HAZOP activities. Supporting capital project engineers during the detailed design phase, equipment purchase, construction and start up. Learn the process chemistry and operations of existing production facilities and use this knowledge to work on improvements. Learn the plant control and information systems and leverage this knowledge to make improvements. Work within teams to identify and implement longer-term process improvement efforts, with the overall goal being to achieve improved safety, higher yields, better production rates, and lower costs. Develop manufacturing cost and capital cost estimates for production facilities. YOU MUST HAVE Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering WE VALUE Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment Ability to analyze technical issues and develop engineering solutions Good written and verbal communication skills Modeling and simulation experience Basic understanding of process economics Basic understanding of control schemes and advanced process control strategies Some experience in the process industry, preferably in engineering or technology organization.
