Lab Technician (12-month contract) $20.64/hr.

Our growing client is seeking a degreed scientist or engineer able to support a mix of directed and self-directed activity to support product development.
6 months of post-high school formal technical training OR equivalent job skills training is normally required to apply knowledge of laboratory procedures, and skills and methods taught in a vocational-technical area.
Minimal work direction needed, highly skilled and knowledgeable to the position and provides best practicing sharing within work group.
Worker performs physical, and/or mechanical analyses and tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes and products.
Assists with compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and documenting results. Ability to follow procedures and methods and to work well on a self-directed team is required.
Good mechanical aptitude and skills as well as experience and specific training in inspection procedures and/or the product line are required.
Experience in a lab or technical environment is preferred.
Must be computer literate with good communication and time management skills.
BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or other science or engineering field.
Understanding of fundamental material properties, data collection and material processing.
Candidate should be a hands-on, energized self-starter with good communication skills.

Position is a support role requiring more work direction whereby worker follows generally defined procedures. Assumes responsibility for conducting assigned, well-defined technical tasks within an area of technical specialty at a project level. Usually reports to a supervisor or senior technical individual. Duties and responsibilities may include interacting with other personnel - principally within the division/staff organization-to develop a network of resources to facilitate completion of assignments. Document experimental-data/observations in technical notebooks (or approved electronic files) and prepares reports to communicate results to the appropriate technical community. May also be required to provide technical supervision/management of other contingent technical workers.
