is seeking a motivated Air Quality Staff Engineer
to join our consulting team in Houston, TX
. The successful candidate will work on a variety of interesting technical projects for clients in the oil & gas, energy, chemical, and technology sectors throughout the Gulf Coast. In North America alone, ERM has more than 300 dedicated air quality and climate change professionals assisting clients with responding to regulatory changes and the many hurdles associated with construction, startup, and operation of complex capital projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop complete and accurate air quality permits for state, Title V, PSD, and New Source Review compliance.  Interact with local regulators to steward permit application review and issuance.
Quantify air pollutant emissions and impacts as part of emission inventories and air permits
Evaluate air pollution control technologies, including technical and economic feasibility of air pollution control equipment.
Implement climate change projects, such as greenhouse gas inventories, emission reductions, energy efficiency, public disclosure and verification.
Assess regulatory applicability and assist clients with MACT, NESHAP, and NSPS compliance programs.
Implement environmental compliance management systems and processes.
Perform desktop and field-based environmental compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions.
Conduct industrial site visits to perform process walkthroughs, sampling, and/or gather air quality data.
Perform multiple tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
Interact and maintain successful relationships with clients, ERM employees, and subcontractors.
REQUIREMENTS:
BS in chemical or environmental engineering or related degree; MS and/or PE preferred.
Recent graduate to 3 years of direct consulting or industry experience; state construction permitting, Title V , PSD, NSR, BACT, and/or MACT/NSPS experience a plus.
Demonstrated understanding of air emissions and emission reporting processes.
Strong hands-on Microsoft Excel experience including working knowledge formulas.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
