VP of Operations
The VP of Operations is responsible for setting the strategic direction and processes operations. Responsible for the overall management, direction, and coordination. Pro-actively identifies key strategies and initiatives that support the companies business growth. Ensures that the processes, procedures, and direction of all activities are consistent with business objectives, regulatory requirements and efforts to meet or exceed customer expectations. Provides leadership and focus to advance the company's vision.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Oversees statewide operational activities through senior and middle management personnel involving gas supply, storage, transmission, distribution and delivery, gas sales to private sector, renewable energy, operations compliance, and property and people security. Subject matter expert on gas manufacturing, supply, and technology.
Defines, recommends, and/or approves and implements short and long range plans and operating policies and procedures. Leads the annual strategic planning process in support of the company's long-term growth and business expansion objectives.
Develops and fosters effective collaboration between divisions to ensure an integrated approach to attain objectives. Defines, directs, and delegates responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities of direct reports.
Accountable for profit & loss for Oahu, Hawaii, Maui, and Kauai Profit Centers. Responsible for the timely provision of profit & loss and accompanying risk reporting for these Profit Centers.
Personally monitors benchmark gas prices and recommends pricing to the Executive Committee.
Performs as the Incident Commander for emergency response to situations that could have a disastrous impact to operations or the Company as a whole.
Accountable for statewide gas supply to ensure production or acquisition of all SNG and LPG meets current and anticipated future demands. Conducts personally or through senior management, the negotiation of prices and terms of supply; reviews and evaluates contracts.
Prepares and/or approves operating and capital budgets; monitors and controls the cost of operations in this responsibility as efficiently as possible.
Performs effective personnel management. In collaboration with the VP Human Resources, carries out the hiring, promotion, discipline, and other personnel actions of, or pertaining to, the employees under his/her supervision.
Keeps current with laws, governmental regulations, trends and development in area of responsibility.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent combination of related experience and education.
Master's degree in Business Administration or related field.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Ten years of experience in a responsible leadership position with experience in managing utility and non-utility gas operations including manufacturing, supply and distribution.
Five years of supervisory/managerial experience.
Specialized knowledge in SNG gas manufacturing, utility gas distribution, LPG storage and supply to include foreign shipments, D.O.T. pipeline and Coast Guard regulations, and NFPA 58.
Working experience in Union environment.
Proficient in the MS Office suite of tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Eight years of supervisory/managerial experience.
