Vapor Technologies, Inc. seeks a full time Process Engineer in Longmont, CO.
Developing and optimizing thin film coating processes geared toward solving specific customer problems and needs.
Identifying technical routes for solving surface finishing problems with understanding of integration into customer manufacturing environments.
Documenting specifications and equipment operating procedures for deposition of coatings.
Participating in equipment installation, validation and training for customers.
Advises and collaborates with R&D and Engineering staff while developing new thin film deposition technologies.
Participate in assessing the effectiveness of new technologies and direct participation in scale-up, verification and documentation for new products.
Some travel will be required (10%)
BS in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or related engineering field.
A strong chemistry background is desired, but not required.
10 years of experience as a Process Engineer or related – preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Experience should include:
Basic PVD/PE-CVD vacuum technology experience
Process development and implementation in manufacturing environments
Familiarity with surface treatments and finishing processes related to thin film deposition, such as part cleaning and electroplating.
Design of Experience (DOE) use for process optimization
Characterization of thin film coatings
