SUMMARY: Responsible for supporting company s research and development efforts with respect to TSTCs future R&D tests in the natural gas fired heater test unit located in Houston.
DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works as part of a product development team to develop the next generation of company furnace related products and services.
Provides support, both domestically and internationally, to the direct company sales force, local subsidiaries, and local representatives in their efforts to promote Tubeskin Thermocouple (TSTC) technology and installation services.
Develops and maintains relationships with 5 main types of customers : 1) Licensors, 2) epcs, 3) Heater Manufacturers and Vessel Fabrication Shops, 4) Company Headquarters, and 5) End-User Plants.
Identifies, develops and maintains close contact with the main Fired Heater personnel for the domestic multi-site and international refiners for the purpose of recommending and providing solutions for future Fired Heater test unit installations.
Consults and provides assistance to customers in writing their corporate TSTC specifications.
Represents the Company and its interests in the semi-annual API (American Petroleum Institute) Fired Heater meetings and the biennial IFRF (International Flame Research Foundation) meetings. On occasion, presents papers on subject that would affect efforts with company s temperature marketing/sales at both of these meetings.
Develops and provides sales training tools (e.g. Application Briefs, powerpoint presentations, videos, samples, etc.) To assist Field Service personnel in their efforts to promote Tubeskin Thermocouple (TSTC) technology and installation services.
Trains incoming and existing Sales personnel, local subsidiaries, and local representatives regarding products and applications of tstcs.
Maintains a detailed understanding of company s multipoint offerings.
Provides customer feedback to our organization (both good and bad) in order to improve our systems. This would be feedback related to any of the following: communication, engineering, drawings, fabrication, schedule, timelines of project completion and material delivers, and installation and subsequent operation. Once our resolution is determined, close the loop and provide this feedback to the customer.
Provides assistance to Site Services personnel (Field Services) with Fired Heater installation jobs, as needed.
Performs ancillary duties as required.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, preferably in chemical, petroleum or mechanical engineering preferred but not required.
10+ years in refining and/or petrochemical operating plants. Experience should include working with fired heater s components, operations and maintenance.
Basic computer and office skills (esp. W/ respect to word, excel, and powerpoint)
Excellent presentation skills to include experience in discussions/presentations made to many different types of groups such as an plant end-users, operations, mechanical maintenance, i/e maintenance, reliability, instrumentation and electrical, project engineering and/or process engineering, shutdown personnel and procurement.
Basic understanding of a refinery s purpose and general layout.
Refining and petrochemical types of heaters (type of configurations) and why they each present a unique challenge.
Detailed understanding of our installation services and why it is to our customer s benefit to use such a service.
Ability to obtain the necessary plant entry safety and security documentation like twic, basic+ and confined space training, respirator fit testing, any necessary site-specific training, etc. All plant gate personnel will ask for this prior to entry.
Be comfortable with both domestic as well as international travel (international travel to many different places).
