The Boeing Company is currently recruiting a Software Engineer Simulation/AI Engineer. The Virtual Warfare Center (VWC)-St. Louis is seeking a creative and highly-motivated software engineer to develop models and simulation software for the Strategy division of Phantom Works. The position involves contributing to a team of core developers to enhance multiple simulation frameworks, graphical applications, and operator interfaces.
This role includes the development of plug-ins for the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling, in support of discrete event simulation and constructive analysis; as well as the advancement of a virtual integrated simulation environment (VISE), supporting real-time operator-in-the-loop experimentation and analysis. The position requires an understanding of discrete-event and frame-based simulation and an ability to work in a dynamic and agile environment. The selected engineer will have the opportunity to model platforms, sensors and emitters, communications, weapon and tactical systems, and integrated family of systems. The engineer will be required to determine requirements, develop simulation software, create software designs and test plans, and integrate and develop interfaces to 3rd party software.
This position will work on the new AI gym that the Virtual Warfare Center is building up. Work will start with the test team as gym requirements are finalized. On the test team, the candidate will develop and perform both unit and integration tests across all of our software. The candidate will then help to design, develop, and deploy the AI gym and algorithm library to our partners/customers.
* The candidate should have experience in modeling and simulation concepts, knowledge of discrete-event and frame-based simulation paradigms, and familiarity with mission-level simulation.
* A working knowledge of object oriented programming, C++, CMake, svn/git, and scripting languages are required.
