Here, you go.Job Summary:The person hired for this position will support multi-media environmental management programs and permitting projects as well as provide environmental compliance support for 3M facilities and divisions globally.Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Compliance Duties:Assessing the applicability of multimedia environmental construction and operating permit requirements, identifying facility-specific compliance requirements, and facilitating implementation.Communicating environmental compliance requirements to facilities and provide support to develop systems to maximize operational flexibility and ensure compliance.Developing and maintaining relationships with relevant agency staff and engage as appropriate to resolve ambiguities or non-compliance with regulations or permits.Establishing permitting strategies to maximize flexibility and ensure compliance for projectsBusiness Contact Duties:Serving as key contact person for all environmental issues and questions originating from a business or country.Leading environmental communications at multiple organizational levels, which typically include but are not limited to Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) planning activities of the business, capital expense forecasting, and compliance resolution.Providing guidance to business on corporate goals/environmental metrics, and coordinate the sharing of best practices within business.Assisting business facilities with corporate initiatives and voluntary programs.Serving as a team member for internal environmental audits.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor�??s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institutionMinimum of two (2) years of environmental regulatory compliance experiencePreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from accredited institutionMinimum of one (1) year experience interpreting and managing environmental industrial regulations, including state and federal permitting regulationsExperience interpreting state-specific regulations (multiple states preferred)High attention to detail, with process-oriented view and ability to document conclusions clearly and conciselyStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain good working relations with clientsAbility to communicate with varying levels and functions within the organization as well as in one-on-one, small groups, and large audience settingsStrong project management and prioritization skillsSelf-starter with the ability to multi-taskDemonstrated ability to develop into a new position via acceptance of coaching, mentoring and networking to strengthen knowledge and expertiseAbility to understand and apply analytical and statistics toolsMicrosoft Office proficientLocation: Maplewood, MinnesotaTravel: May include up to 20% domestic/internationalRelocation: Is authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
